Julia Albo was born in 1996 and grew up in the Bay Area. In 2018 she earned her BFA from Sonoma State University with an emphasis in painting. She also graduated with honors and distinction as well as an art history minor. Julia wanted to learn more about the traditional way of painting and in 2019 began training the Atelier School of Classical Realism in Oakland, California. There, she studied under prominent artist, David Hardy. But when the COVID-19 pandemic hit she had to find other means of learning. She moved to online classes and participated in a virtual workshop held by Robin Eley.
Julia's work has been included in numerous juried exhibitions on the West Coast. One such exhibition was the 2018 Left Coast Annual Juried Show in the Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica. Claudia Schmuckli, Curator in Charge for Contemporary Art and Programming at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, was the juror for the show. In September of 2018 her painting, Cassandra, was selected as a finalist in Art Elevated to be printed on a banner and hung in the Garment District of New York.
Her work has also been published in American Art Collector and International Artist.
